I’m feeling jittery when it comes to a night look,
God, I wish I could consult a fashion book.
That would make me look like a princess,
And I could see myself as the evening’s nexus.
Wish to catch the eyes and be chic and polished,
I wonder if someone could help to come out of this statement, this style that is so bleakish!
Hello, folks! I hope you all are fit as a fiddle. I’m doing great and pretty excited about my latest blog which you people are witnessing on a 'dream come true' platform with my sister. We wanted to share our fashion philosophies and we have finally arrived at a juncture in our lives where we could really work together and strive for the best.
So coming back to my newly brewed post, how many of you can relate to the aforementioned lines? I can empathize with each one of you when it comes to dressing perfectly for a special occasion; we do tend to feel lost at times. I’m sure we all must have felt like this. It feels like ‘déjà vu’!
When you are planning to go to a party or deciding on an evening look, whether it is a dinner date or night out with friends, what is your first thought? Is it "I want to look different tonight and would definitely come out of my office trousers or jeans look!!". And when you are back from work, dead and tired, you don’t have any zeal left to think and brainstorm. So after a much-needed altercation with your alter ego, you finally settle for an old black dress or a pair of jeans with some sequin tank tops or some vibrant floral.
I’ve been meaning to give cold shoulder to the other fashionistas, so I’ve come up with a very simple yet an exquisite look. It looks super chic, elegant and exudes a youthful vibrancy, all at the same time on anyone with a little dash of makeup and attitude. So, let’s come to the point and talk about the look. These days ‘Off shoulder and cold shoulder tops’ are selling like hot cakes. And I would highly recommend having at least one in deep and bold color in your closet. You can pair them with your rugged denims (if the top has no print) or hot pants. They look super-hot with rugged/ripped jeans.
You can wear an off-shoulder top for a day look; just makes it easier to carry oneself and you feel mobile with your sneakers on. You can elevate the look and take it to the next level when going out at night by selecting a deep bold colored off-shoulder top with your stilettos/pumps. This would give a chic and polished look.
For this look I’ve chosen a wine-colored off shoulder top (from "Forever New") and a pair of knee-ripped denim (from ONLY) along with black textured pumps (from Tresmode). I have minimized the use of accessories in this particular look because in the makeup I have shown a little temerity (which I usually don’t do). I’m wearing back slide earrings from Forever New and paired it with a black envelope clutch (Dorothy Perkins) and given my eyes a tinge of grey/black eye shadow with the eye liner on the upper eyelid. I have avoided using kajal/liner in the lower eyelid so as to keep it lighter. But I’ve gone bold and classy with my deep matte finish lip color (Loreal). I have kept my hair on one side by doing a fine side-braid and pinned it, which is shouting out loud for my beautiful off shoulder. And the whole ensemble rocked the evening and I felt amazing too. So gals, leave that lurid taste behind and be the fashion’s pal through my writings. I hope you liked it and it helped you to make a decision about styling to some extent.
