But do we really make a point that is recommended?
Speaking of age is a taboo,
Why can’t we think beyond who’s who?
You all will be girls till the doomsday,
Just don’t try to blend in and try to be someone who you can’t portray!
Last week has been super tiring and super crazy, as I’ve been coordinating between two time zones. You might have read my last post which says that now I’m working in collaboration with my sister (who happens to be in Seattle). We have been revamping our website, so I have been awfully busy since then. Ohh I completely forgot, not two but three time zones!! My husband (who’s a sailor) is currently commissioned on Indo-Malaysian trade, so I’ve to keep up with his erratic timings also. Well this is an arduous task and I’ve made conciliatory efforts to resolve it rather than bumming. So last week I had been really busy and super tired. I badly needed a break so I went out with my girlfriends for coffee and had some hearty talk. I wanted to wear something comfortable yet trendy!
After an exacting week I wanted some refreshing talks with my friends and a good cup of coffee. After an abortive effort of finding something new in my closet I went to bed and kept on browsing in my sleep on Saturday night. Due to the assiduous week my mind was super cluttered and wanted to shut down I guess. I usually do not believe in preparing for a casual look a day before the actual occasion of wearing it. My fashion statement is spontaneous, comfortable and cool.
On Sunday morning when I got up I knew what I wanted. For a casual and contemporary look, I chose to wear a jumpsuit culotte with sneakers. Anything worn with sneakers gives it a fresh and vibrant look. On normal days I never open my drawer of stilettoes. I met my friends in the evening and had a time full of fun and frolic. Well we didn’t get the time to take pictures as people were really busy in chatting and sharing ideas. I recreated the same look for the photoshoot the very next day so that I could share a supercool look with you guys. I created two different styles wearing the same jumpsuit.
Here’s the saga of my unrelenting love for jumpsuits culottes/playsuits with two different looks. In the first one I am wearing ONLY’s playsuit and paired it up white Adidas sneakers (people are totally going bonkers about white shoes these days). It a good investment as you can wear them with jeans, dress, shorts etc. or whatever you like! I gave a little twist by choosing silver jhumkas (from Fabindia) over some funky earrings, my favourite pink sling bag (from Kate Spade) and reflectors (from Ray ban). I chose not to go with a loud makeup as this whole ensemble is for the day time. So I wore very light makeup with little eyeliner and lovely pink lipstick (from Loreal) and tied a half bun as I wanted to flaunt my red streaks. :
The first look is very classy and a universal combination, as navy blue with white can never go wrong. While for the second look I used a shrug (from United Colors of Benetton) and wore a neon coloured relaxed ballerina shoe (from Adidas) which is more colourful and peppy. I happen to love this colour so I wanted to showcase it in the same look. The shrug is a bit colourful so I tied my hair in a bun and wore a statement neckpiece (bought at the "Grand Canyon" collectibles section outlet) as wearing too much of accessory and print gives you a very busy and confused kind of look. This look is good when you are going out on brunches, dates, picnics and casual meeting with friends.
